How to Use the Statistics Report
The purpose of Reporting is to provide your organization with quick, pre-built action items statistically optimized to support your matching gift results. Double the Donation designed Reporting to answer one core question:
“What can I do in 5 minutes today that will increase my organization’s matching gift revenue?”
Each report is pre-built, action-oriented, and based on statistically validated performance patterns from over 5,000+ nonprofits and educational institutions. Each Reporting tab updates on a scheduled basis. Records you modify in the underlying Donations Table may remain visible in the report until the next refresh.
How Reporting Drives Revenue
Each report surfaces one of the following:
-
High-likelihood match opportunities
-
Correctable data issues limiting revenue
-
Performance patterns to optimize campaigns and communications

How to Use the Leading Companies Report
This report identifies the employers most frequently represented in your donor base—your strongest prospects for workplace giving partnerships.
Ownership
- Corporate partnerships lead, sponsorship lead, or workplace giving project owner.
Why It Matters
Frequent employee donors signal a company with strong affinity for your mission. These companies are prime candidates for:
-
Sponsorships
-
One-off matching campaigns
-
Payroll giving partnerships
-
Joint fundraising events
Recommended Actions
-
Reach out to the companies most represented in the report.
-
Explore opportunities for sponsorship or enhanced matching (e.g., seasonal match drives).
-
Share donor engagement insights with your development or corporate partnerships team.
How to Use the Eligible But Not Submitted Report
This report surfaces donors who are match-eligible but have not submitted their matching gift requests. These are your highest-ROI, lowest-effort opportunities.
Ownership
- Matching Gift Coordinator
Recommended Actions
-
Send a bulk manual outreach email using your Match Eligible template.
-
Reinforce the simplicity and impact of submitting a match request.
-
Ensure your account has:
-
✓ Automated outreach enabled (following our recommendations for automated outreach)
-
✓ Thank You email stream enabled
-
Why This Works
These donors already demonstrated interest and eligibility. They simply need a final nudge.
Learn about the manual email templates available to your organization and how to send them.
How to Use the Repeat Donors Report
Identifies donors who submitted a match request previously but have other unmatched gifts.
Why This Happens
-
Some companies require separate submissions for each gift.
-
Donors may mistakenly believe one submission covered all donations.
-
Donors may forget to submit a match for one gift among many.
Ownership
- Matching Gift Coordinator
Recommended Actions
-
Prioritize donations in:
-
Employer Identification In Progress
-
Waiting for Donor
-
Match Initiated (not Donor Verified)
-
-
Send a bulk email using your manual email templates, reminding donors to submit the remaining matches.
-
Review your sending limits settings—settings may be too restrictive.
-
If donors are frequent givers, consider relaxing limits to allow more automated reminders.
-
Why This Works
- Past match submission is one of the strongest predictors of future match submission.
- These donors are highly likely to act if reminded.
How to Use the Campaign Comparisons Report
Shows the percentage of match-eligible donations per campaign.
Ownership
- Matching Gift Coordinator
- Campaign owners (especially those running communications)
Why It Matters
- Campaigns with the highest match-eligibility rates reveal successful communication patterns.
- Campaigns with lower performance may need improved matching gift visibility.
Recommended Actions
-
Identify your highest-performing campaigns.
-
Share insights with campaign leads:
-
Where was the matching gift plugin used?
-
How were matching gifts promoted in messaging?
-
Was follow-up sent after the campaign?
-
-
At the end of a campaign:
-
Send manual outreach to maximize remaining match revenue.
-
-
For events or special campaigns:
-
Share CSV exports with event staff so they can follow up from their departmental email (which often performs better).
-
How to Use the Incomplete Employer Data
Highlights donations where donors partially searched for an employer but did not select a valid company from the search tool.
Why It Matters
- These donors may still be match-eligible—many simply typed the employer incorrectly or clicked too quickly.
Ownership
- Matching Gift Coordinator
Recommended Actions
-
Review the Entered Company Name field for each record (page 6–7).
-
Use the matching module’s company scoring system to determine the likely match.
-
If a corrected employer is identified:
-
Update the employer field
-
Revenue Impact
- Correcting employer names expands your match-eligible pool and recovers otherwise lost matching gift dollars.
How to Use the Missed Communication Report
Shows donations that should have received automated outreach but did not—and explains why.
Ownership
- Matching Gift Coordinator
Why It Matters
- Automated outreach is a key driver of matching gift revenue.
- Any unsent email represents missed revenue.
Reasons for “Not Sent” + Recommended Actions
|
Email Not Sent Reason |
Recommended Action |
|
Recent Recurring Donation Exists |
Revisit your email sending limits settings. Are your donors giving frequently but not getting prompted to submit matching gift requests often enough? |
|
Met Exclusion Criteria |
Revisit your exclusion rules. Are you accidentally excluding too many potentially eligible gifts from receiving revenue-generating emails? |
|
Email Template Disabled |
Revisit your automated outreach cadence. Is your organization following the data-driven recommendations for automated outreach? |
In the short term, we also recommend sending a bulk email using your Match Eligible template to these eligible donors who have not received the appropriate communication from your organization.
