Identifying Top Companies

Matching Module

Double the Donation’s platform helps you identify companies that have not only matching gift programs but also volunteer grant programs.

For matching module’s Dashboard, you can access your Matching Gift Company Leaderboard Click Show all to view the list of top companies, sorted by the number of donors in your Double the Donation account.

The Matching Gift Company Leaderboard widget allows you to quickly view program details to determine if you are eligible for the company's program. If you aren’t eligible for the program but have a high engagement from donors, we recommend reaching out to existing contacts at the company to ask for a one-off match for any active fundraising events the company may be participating in.

Plus, if the top company in your list matches donations to your organization, the matching module will highlight this company for you!

You can also view donor records by clicking on the number of donations by the company name.  This view lets you get a quick overview of the match potential for a company. You can also adjust the number of entries you can see by clicking the drop-down menu next to Show ___ entries.

Leveraging Data from Double the Donation for Your Corporate Giving Strategy

The insights available in Double the Donation — including data on matching gifts, volunteer grants, and payroll giving — can be powerful tools to strengthen and grow your corporate giving strategy.

The figures provided across these modules can be used in donor stewardship presentations, partnership updates, or proposals to expand an existing relationship. Even if your organization isn't eligible for a company’s matching gift program, showcasing engagement through volunteer grants or payroll donations can present a compelling case for collaboration.

Top donors from a company — whether through gifts, volunteer hours, or recurring payroll contributions — could be passed on to mid-level or major giving officers for cultivation. These individuals may also be excellent candidates to become organizational champions. An organizational champion helps maintain and grow the relationship between their company and your organization by:

  • Assisting with the matching gift process
  • Encouraging payroll donations
  • Coordinating volunteer activities and corporate volunteer days
  • Supporting fundraisers or team captains for peer-to-peer events

You can also export records by campaign or specific time frame to analyze which companies and programs (matching, volunteering, payroll) are driving the most corporate engagement. Over time, this allows your organization to:

  • Quantify and visualize top corporate partners across all giving types
  • Identify companies that consistently engage — financially and through service
  • Recognize patterns of participation and tailor outreach based on giving behavior
  • Celebrate and retain high-impact corporate relationships

By utilizing the full breadth of data available through Double the Donation — including via the payroll giving plugin — your team is equipped to build stronger, data-driven corporate partnerships rooted in generosity, involvement, and impact.
