This article explains the steps and considerations for canceling your Double the Donation subscription.
We're sorry to hear you want to cancel your subscription. Organizations using our tools regularly report a positive return on their investment! That's because Double the Donation Matching helps organizations capture more of the $4-7 billion left on the table in corporate matching gifts every year.
What Happens After Cancellation
Most organizations have already integrated Double the Donation’s matching gift tools into their website and fundraising platforms.

If your subscription is canceled, you will need to remove all Double the Donation tools from your donation forms, confirmation pages, website, and email workflows.

Donors will no longer see company matching gift program guidelines, forms, or links.

If left in place, donors will encounter an error message instead of the matching gift search tool (see example on page 3 of the original PDF).
Steps to Remove Tools After Cancellation
Step 1: Un-integrate from Donation Forms and CRMs

Double the Donation integrates with donation forms and CRMs via a company search tool and confirmation page plugin.

Deactivate each integration individually by referencing our integration guides.

Step 2: Remove the Matching Gift Search Tool from Your Website

This tool is typically embedded on 4–5 different pages.

Be sure to locate and remove each instance.

If not removed, an error message will appear for donors.
Step 3: Adjust Your Matching Gift Email Strategy

The matching module automatically emails donors with matching gift instructions.

Once canceled, these automated emails stop.

Your team will need a new donor outreach plan to continue promoting matching gifts.
