When donors click buttons or links inside automated emails from Double the Donation, the system performs two actions simultaneously:

  1. ✓ Updates the donation record appropriately

  2. ✓ Redirects the donor to a follow-up landing page with contextual messaging

These redirect pages are automatically generated and dynamically tailored based on the donation’s data and status.

Default Matching Module Redirect Pages

  1. “I’ve submitted my matching gift request!”

  2. “I’m not eligible for a matching gift”

  3. “Unsubscribe from matching gift emails.”

We recommend that you use the default email redirect pages. These are designed to work well for all organizations. View the default pages below.

Default Email Redirect Pages [recommended]

Double the Donation strongly recommends using the defaults. They are optimized for donor clarity, data quality, and matching gift revenue generation.

1. "I've submitted my matching gift request!"

When a donor clicks the “I’ve submitted my matching gift request!” button inside an automated matching gift email, they are redirected to a dynamic thank-you page.

Dynamic Components of This Page

The redirect page changes depending on what the matching module already knows about the donation:

A. Donors in “Employer Identification in Progress”

This version includes:

  • A request for the donor to search for and select their employer

  • A correction option if they clicked the button by accident

  • A message explaining why employer identification is still needed

Purpose:

  • ✓ Collect employer information

  • ✓ Help donors discover eligibility

  • ✓ Allow donors to close out the gift if not match-eligible

B. Donors Whose Employers Use Workplace-Giving Software

Donors see different messaging depending on whether the corporate giving software supports auto submission with Double the Donation.

If so:

If not:

C. Donors Whose Employer Data Is Incomplete

The system requests updated matching gift program information when company guidelines/forms are missing.

Purpose:

  • Improve future donor journeys by crowdsourcing updated employer match data.

D. Donors Whose Employers Use the Double the Donation Standard Matching Gift Form

Demonstrates messaging encouraging donors to explore CSR platforms that can simplify matching gift submissions.

E. Donors with Previous Gifts Still in “Waiting for Donor”

Donors may be asked whether they submitted match requests for previous unmatched donations.

Features include:

  • List of past donations

  • “Select All” option

  • “Mark as Submitted” button

F. Additional Sections Shown to All Donors

Added components such as:

  • Other ways to make an impact modules

  • A link to correct accidental clicks

These elements do not appear on the employer-identification version of the page.

2. "I'm not eligible for a matching gift"

When a donor clicks this link, they arrive at a survey page.

The top of the survey asks donors to select why they are not match-eligible.

Learn more about the ineligible survey and review customization options in this article.

Note: If your organization has edited the "I'm not eligible for a matching gift" redirect URL in the email customization settings, the donor will be sent to this custom URL after interacting with the ineligible survey and selecting the "Submit" button.

The bottom of the page includes additional calls to action encouraging donors to explore other ways to engage.

3. "Unsubscribe from matching gift emails."

When a donor clicks the "Unsubscribe from matching gift emails." link in the matching module automated email pictured below, they are redirected to a default confirmation page.

The confirmation redirect page is simple:
