Overview

Double the Donation Matching integrates with many fundraising platforms, including Click & Pledge and Salesforce. Because the Click & Pledge platform is built on Salesforce, many fundraisers who use Click & Pledge also utilize other Salesforce features. Fortunately, each of these platforms works seamlessly with the matching module , so that you can drive matching gift revenue in a simple, automated way.

How it Works

The Click & Pledge and Salesforce integrations allow you to seamlessly identify match-eligible donors from your donation forms and automatically pass all offline gifts from your CRM into Double the Donation Matching. Then, the matching module automation gets to work, providing the right matching gift next steps to donors to help them drive their matching gift requests to completion.

Double the Donation Matching Exclusion Rules

When integrating a donation form and CRM (like Click & Pledge and Salesforce) to Double the Donation Matching, you should ensure that you review our "Managing Multiple Integrations" article, and that you have our default exclusion rules setup to stop duplicate donation records from flowing in to the matching module. This exclusion rule prevents donation records that contain the same email address and donation amount within your desired period of days from being imported into Double the Donation Matching:

In addition to our standard exclusion rules, you can also set custom exclusion rules within Double the Donation Matching. This dynamic feature allows you to prevent your desired exclusions from being imported into the matching module.

If you are using multiple integrations, such as a CRM and a donation form, each platform that records donation data might send slightly different amounts to Double the Donation Matching. For example, one system might include a processing fee in the total donation amount, while the other system removes all fees and just stores the donation portion of the charge as the total amount. In these cases, we highly recommend using the additional filter to exclude records with the same email address and donation amounts within 20% of each other. The 20% buffer is calculated to catch most of these discrepancies based on industry averages for processing fees, platform fees, transaction fees, etc.

Salesforce: Custom Filters

Upon activating the Salesforce integration, you can also utilize "Inclusions and Exclusions" to ensure your desired data flows from your CRM into Double the Donation Matching.

Utilize custom filters to ensure you capture the correct information within your matching module account.

From this setting, you may select your desired object and choose values to include in your matching module dataflow. Many organizations utilize this feature to ensure that the gifts that will not be captured by their  donation forms are indeed captured through their CRM Integration.

For example, if you want to ensure you import all CRM donations with the transaction source of offline gift, you could configure that in this step.

Similarly, you can use this setting to exclude donations that you do not wish to import into Double the Donation Matching.

Once your exclusion rules are setup, you can integrate your fundraising tools so that data may begin flowing into your matching module account. Your online donation form donations will flow from Click & Pledge, and your other offline transactions will flow from Salesforce. Navigate to the "Getting Started" section of this article to see your platform-specific integration guides.

Using this data, Double the Donation Matching can automate matching gift messaging and help to drive matching gift requests to completion.

Features

Double the Donation Matching works to identify match-eligible donors and drive their matching gift requests to completion for gifts that are entered in either or both your Salesforce CRM or Click & Pledge donation forms. The integration can then pull valuable matching gift information back into your Salesforce account for simple data tracking. This means that no matter which platforms register your donations, you can rest assured that the matching module will tag and track match-eligible donors to submit their matching gift requests.

These integrations also provide settings to avoid duplicate tracking and outreach, meaning your donors will not receive multiple matching gift messages even if you track transaction information from your donation forms and CRM.

Getting Started

To get started, review the steps in the "Managing Multiple Integrations" guide to set up your exclusion rules and ensure your account doesn't product duplicate records. Then, follow the step-by-step integration guides to connect your matching module account to your Click & Pledge and Salesforce accounts.
