      Can the Company Search Plugin be installed as an iFrame?

      Why iFrame Embed is Not Compatible with Double the Donation

      iFrame Limitations

      iFrame embeds function as a browser window within a browser window. While they may seem convenient, they do not offer the full functionality required for Double the Donation's tools. Here’s why:

      • Tracking Issues: iFrames cannot support Double the Donation's tracking capabilities, which are essential for monitoring plugin interactions, reporting, and analytics.

      Understanding the Differences

      Standard Embed Plugin (Supported)

      1. Customization: The standard embed plugin takes on the CSS properties of the page it is embedded on, allowing for further customization and integration with the website.

      2. Responsiveness: It automatically expands to fit the full width and height of the container where the embed code is added, ensuring a seamless experience for users.

      3. JavaScript Compatibility: The standard embed uses JavaScript. Note that some Content Management Systems (CMS) may require additional plugins to enable JavaScript support.

      4. Tracking and Reporting: It allows critical tracking and reporting to be sent to your Double the Donation account, ensuring that interactions are properly recorded.

      iFrames (Not Supported)

      1. Ease of Implementation: While iFrames may be easier to implement initially, they come with significant limitations for functionality.

      2. Styling Issues: iFrames do not inherit the styling of your webpage, which may lead to a disjointed appearance and user experience.

      3. Tracking Incompatibility: They are not compatible with Double the Donation’s tracking capabilities, which means data may not be captured accurately.

       

      For optimal performance, integration, and tracking, Double the Donation recommends using the standard embed code or WordPress plugin instead of an iFrame.
