Step-by-Step: Integrate Double the Donation Matching into Pinwheel

Step 1 — Log Into Pinwheel and Go to Account Settings

Open your Pinwheel account and navigate to your settings.

Step 2 — Open Your Profile → My Accounts → Integrations

  1. Click the User Profile in the upper-right corner.

  2. Choose the appropriate account under My Accounts.

  3. Open the Integrations tab.

  4. Enter your Public Key and Private Key from Double the Donation.

Step 3 — Verify Your API Keys and Save

After entering your keys, ensure the status displays Verified, then click Save.

Enabling or Disabling Matching Gift Tools on Individual Pinwheel Forms

Once the integration is active, you can control matching gift functionality at the form level.

 

Step 4 — Select the Fundraiser Form

  1. In the Fundraisers tool on the main menu, choose the fundraiser you want to modify.

  2. Open Settings → Optional Questions.

  3. In the Matching Gift Questions section, toggle options to Yes or No.

Important Requirement

Both matching gift questions must be toggled ON for the Double the Donation search tool to appear.

 

Integration Complete

Once the toggles are enabled:

  • The Double the Donation streamlined search tool appears on your Pinwheel fundraiser forms

  • Donors can search for their employer and begin their matching gift journey immediately
