Does Double the Donation Integrate with ActBlue?

The following article has separate instructions for non-embeddable forms and embeddable ActBlue forms. Clients with embeddable forms can use the instructions for the non-embeddable forms, but clients who use non-embeddable forms cannot use the instructions for the embeddable forms.

Step-by-Step: Integrate Double the Donation Matching into ActBlue (required for non-embeddable forms)

Step 1 — Request Webhook Activation

Your Double the Donation Client Success Representative will request the ActBlue webhook on your behalf.

To complete the setup, your organization must:

  • Approve the webhook request inside ActBlue → Webhook Integrations

  • Ensure the webhook password matches exactly in both platforms

Step 2 — Confirm Data Flow

Once approved:

  • Donation data flows from ActBlue into Double the Donation Matching

  • Matching gift automation begins for eligible donations

Step-by-Step: Integrate Double the Donation Matching into Actblue (embeddable forms ONLY)

The following instructions install the Double the Donation Matching plugin on your ActBlue embeddable form's confirmation page and enable donor tracking.

Step 1 — Open API Keys in Double the Donation

  1. Log in to your Double the Donation Matching account

  2. Navigate to Settings → API Keys

 

Step 2 — Copy the ActBlue Embed Code

  1. Scroll to Embed Codes for Setup

  2. In the dropdown, select ActBlue embeddable form

  3. Copy the generated embed code

 


Step 3 — Paste the Embed Code on Your Website

Paste the embed code on the webpage where your ActBlue embeddable form is installed.

 

Result:

  • The Double the Donation search tool appears on the donation page

  • Donors can search for their employer after donating

 

Integration Complete

Once either method is enabled:

  • ActBlue donation data flows into Double the Donation Matching

Q: I completed the integration steps, but I'm seeing an error message in Double the Donation Matching. What's wrong?

A: The most common issue is a password mismatch.

  • Ensure the webhook password in ActBlue exactly matches the password in Double the Donation Matching

  • Passwords are case-sensitive

  • Do not include leading or trailing spaces

 

Q: I don't have a Double the Donation Matching account. How do I get one?
