Step-by-Step: Integrate Double the Donation Matching into GiveCampus

Double the Donation helps nonprofits and schools grow revenue across workplace giving programs, including matching gifts, volunteer incentives, payroll giving, and corporate sponsorship opportunities. Step-by-Step: Integrate Double the Donation Matching into GiveCampus

Step 1 — Request Integration Activation

Email support@givecampus.com and ask that the Double the Donation Matching integration be activated for your institution.

Your Double the Donation Client Success Representative can also contact GiveCampus on your behalf during onboarding.

 

Step 2 — Enter Your API Key in School-Level Settings

Once activated:

  1. Navigate to Online Giving → School Level Settings

  2. Scroll to Company Matching

  3. Paste your Public API Key from your Double the Donation Matching account

  4. Configure:

    • Input Label (recommended: “See if your company will match your donation!”)

    • Input Placeholder (recommended: “Search Company Name”)

  5. Click Save Changes

 

Step 3 — (Optional) Enable or Disable Matching per Campaign

By default, Step 2 activates matching gift functionality on all donation forms.

To customize per campaign:

  1. Open the specific Campaign

  2. Go to Campaign Settings → Giving Form

  3. In the Company Matching Gifts section, check or uncheck Double the Donation

 

Integration Complete

Once saved:

  • The Double the Donation employer search field will appear on donation forms

  • Donation records will flow into your Matching portal

Q: I don’t have a Double the Donation Matching account. How do I get one?

A: Visit the Double the Donation demo request page to schedule a demo. Mention that you use GiveCampus in your demo request form.

 

Q: When I entered my Double the Donation Matching API key into my Give Campus admin settings, I saw "Unknown" in the status field. What's the problem?

A: First, ensure you have an active Double the Donation Matching account. If you have confirmed that your matching module is active, ensure that you have copied and pasted your public API key and not your private API key from your Double the Donation Matching account. If you're still experiencing issues, contact support@doublethedonation for assistance.

 

Q: Where can I embed Double the Donation's matching gift search plugin?

A: We recommend creating a dedicated matching gift page on your website. This page will help all website visitors, not just those on your donation form, understand matching gift programs and easily find their company’s matching gift guidelines and forms.
