Step-by-Step: Integrate Double the Donation Matching with 4aGoodCause
Step #1: Log in to your 4aGoodCause account.
Step #2: Click on “Settings” → “Integrations” on the left menu. Then, click on the Double the Donation card.
Step #3: Check the box to enable Double the Donation’s matching gift plugin, and enter your public API key when prompted. Click “save” to activate Double the Donation Matching across all 4aGoodCause donation forms.

Congratulations! A “see if your employer will match your donation” checkbox will now appear across all of your donation forms, expanding to show the Double the Donation Matching autocomplete search tool. The Double the Donation matching gift plugin will appear on your confirmation pages, and all donations will flow from 4aGoodCause to the matching module.

Q: How is this different from the previous integration?
A: In the previous version of our integration, nonprofits could embed a Double the Donation matching gift plugin on the confirmation page of their 4aGoodCause forms. However, nonprofits had limited ability to track donor engagement with the tool and were unable to follow up with eligible donors through automated matching gift outreach.
Now that 4aGoodCause integrates with Double the Donation Matching, organizations can identify eligible donors on the donation form itself and present tailored matching gift next steps to those donors on the confirmation page. Double the Donation Matching then automates personalized matching gift emails to all donors even if they did not enter their employment information during the donation process. While that automation enables organizations to send matching gift outreach easily, The matching module also stores all of that employment and engagement information so that nonprofits have access to detailed analytics.

Q: Where else can I embed Double the Donation's plugin?
A: We recommend you create a dedicated matching gift page on your website to place matching gift information in the path of every website visitor, not just those already on your donation form. On this page, you can explain what matching gift programs are and provide donors with a chance to look up their employer's program forms, guidelines, and instructions. Your dedicated matching gift page will become a useful resource to include in emails, newsletters, and direct messages.
